Combining appointments means grouping work that would normally take several visits into one longer session. For patients travelling from a distant district, the point is to cut down the number of journeys: instead of driving two or three hours repeatedly, treatments that do not interfere with one another are completed back to back on the same day.
What fits into one day
- Examination, panoramic X-ray and the treatment plan in a single visit
- Fillings on several teeth
- Scaling combined with the first stage of gum treatment
- Root canal treatment start to finish in suitable cases
- Crown impressions with temporary crowns fitted the same day
- A straightforward extraction alongside a filling in the same arch
The limit is comfort rather than technique. Keeping the mouth open for hours is tiring, so long visits are planned in blocks with breaks.
Why some stages have to stay separate
Certain steps take biological time and cannot be compressed: an implant integrating with bone, a socket healing after extraction, gum tissue settling after treatment, and laboratory work being made. The solution is not to skip stages but to group them so that the number of trips is as small as possible. A patient might have extractions, gum treatment and fillings in one visit, impressions and try-in at the second, and fitting at the third: three journeys instead of six. Making the day work
- Tell us which district you are travelling from so the block can be sized properly
- Choose an early morning slot for a long day
- Bring previous X-rays and a list of your medication
- Eat something light beforehand, since eating is awkward for a while after anaesthetic
- Arrange a companion if the plan involves sedation and you are driving back
Common questions
Can I have an extraction and a filling on the same day?
Usually yes. They do not wait on each other. Only when extensive surgery has been done in one area do we leave other work in that area until it has healed.
Can root canal treatment be done in one visit?
It depends on the tooth. Where inflammation is limited and the canals can be cleaned and dried, one visit is often enough; with an acute abscess the infection has to be brought under control first. Our page on root canal treatment explains the difference.
Can my child be seen on the same day as me?
Yes. Appointments for several family members can run consecutively, and children generally cope better with a morning slot. See our page on the children's dentist.
Our clinic is in Muratpasa and is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, so sessions can be placed at weekends and in the evening as well.
