Common Emergencies and What to Do First
The guidance below is for the time before you reach the clinic; it does not replace treatment.
Severe toothache
Rinse with warm salt water and gently remove trapped food with floss. Never place a painkiller against the gum — aspirin and similar tablets cause a chemical burn. Cold on the outside of the cheek helps. Spontaneous throbbing pain at night suggests the nerve is involved.
Knocked-out tooth
For a permanent tooth, the first 30 minutes decide the outcome. Hold it only by the crown, never the root; if dirty, rinse briefly in milk or saline and never scrub. Transport it in milk or the patient's own saliva — drying kills the root cells. Milk teeth are never replanted.
Broken or chipped tooth
Keep the fragment — it can sometimes be bonded back. Rinse with warm water and cover a sharp edge with orthodontic wax or sugar-free gum. A pink or red spot in the fracture means the nerve is exposed and needs prompt treatment.
Lost filling, veneer or crown
Keep the crown and bring it with you; it can usually be cleaned and recemented. Do not use household or superglue — it damages tissue and can make proper recementation impossible.
Dental abscess and swelling
Swelling, pain on biting, bad taste and fever suggest an abscess. Do not try to burst it. Swelling spreading across the face, difficulty swallowing or breathing, or inability to open the mouth are serious and mean coming immediately.
Dental Problems While on Holiday in Antalya
Visitors most often ask how treatment fits around their flight and how the process works.
Flying with a dental problem
Cabin pressure changes can sharply increase pain where gas is trapped by inflammation — barodontalgia. Tell us if your return flight is close: an interim solution can be planned so you can fly comfortably and complete treatment at home.
Continuing treatment after you leave
Emergency care here and definitive treatment at home is a common scenario. You can request a written summary of what was done, the materials used and the recommended next step, along with digital copies of your radiographs.
Payment and insurance
Some travel policies cover emergency dental care; you can request itemised documentation for your claim. Prices are not published on the site under Turkish health advertising rules — the plan and its cost are explained after examination and nothing proceeds without your approval.
Finding the clinic
We are in Muratpasa, Antalya's central district, easily reached from hotels in Lara, Konyaalti and the city centre. Calling before you set out lets us prepare and shortens your wait.
When Not to Wait
Some signs indicate a situation that should not wait until morning.

What can usually wait until morning
Mild sensitivity, a small chip without a sharp edge and a painless lost filling can usually wait until morning — though sooner is better, and since we are open 24/7 you do not have to wait at all.
