Kadriye sits next to Serik's hotel and golf resorts and has a year-round resident population; many of its workers spend a long season as one unbroken block.

This page covers a logic that is standard in occupational health but rarely discussed in dentistry: the pre-season check. The idea is simple — see the picture before the rush starts and bring forward anything likely to cause trouble in the next six months.

Its value is that you learn in advance which tooth can wait and which cannot.

The Logic of a Pre-Season Oral Check

The aim is not to treat everything at once but to draw a six-month roadmap.

What is examined in a pre-season check

  • Interproximal decay and filling margins, via bite-wing radiographs
  • Gum pocket depths and bleeding on probing
  • Cracked, worn or leaking restorations
  • The periapical status of root-treated teeth
  • The position of impacted or partly erupted wisdom teeth
  • The fit of dentures and bridges and their supporting teeth
  • The pattern of wear and any signs of clenching

Why silent problems are sought out

Most problems that flare mid-season are already present at its start, simply without symptoms. Interproximal decay is invisible in a mirror, gum disease is painless, and a root-treated tooth can have a silent lesion at its apex. Each is found only if looked for — with bite-wings, probing and periapical images. The point is to detect what the patient cannot feel.

How the findings are sequenced

The resulting list rarely needs to be finished in one visit. Findings fall into three groups: what must be dealt with before the season, what fits into a single appointment during it, and what can be planned for afterwards. Active infection, deep decay, fractured restorations and repeatedly inflamed wisdom teeth belong in the first group.

Getting Here, Booking and Emergencies from Kadriye

Route, booking and emergency arrangements for patients from Kadriye.

Getting here from Kadriye

Kadriye lies in the Serik district of Antalya; Serik is an outlying district near the centre, about 42 kilometres from the clinic. We also see patients from neighbouring areas that share the route from Kadriye, such as Yumaklar, Aşağıçatma, Bilginler, Cumhuriyet. You can ask for the location on WhatsApp when travelling from Kadriye.

Appointments for Kadriye

If you say you are coming from Kadriye when you book, procedures are combined and examination, radiographs and treatment are usually completed the same day. As with patients from Serik generally, appointments for families from Kadriye can be scheduled consecutively.

Emergencies from Kadriye

Coming from Kadriye at night is quicker than by day once the roads clear; call as you set out and you will receive first-aid guidance on the phone. For patients coming from Dental Clinic in Kadriye, the clinic is open 24/7 and in an emergency the order is set by severity rather than arrival time. For spreading facial swelling, difficulty swallowing or breathing, or toothache with fever, go to the nearest emergency department.

Emergencies During Orthodontic Treatment

Most problems during brace treatment are not true emergencies, but a few will not wait. Knowing the difference prevents both needless worry and needless delay.

What can wait

A planned appointment is enough for these:

  • A bracket coming off but still on the wire — secure it with wax
  • An elastic breaking — it can wait until the next appointment
  • Mild pain and a sense of looseness — expected findings
  • Rubbing ulcers on the lip — managed with wax and salt water

What should not wait

A wire end digging into the cheek or gum, a wire that has advanced with food and pierced the tissue, a piece embedded in the floor of the mouth or palate, and any appliance swallowed or suspected of being inhaled — these must be dealt with the same day. Do not try to cut a protruding wire yourself; the piece can be swallowed.

What to keep at home

A small kit is useful during brace treatment: orthodontic wax, clean tweezers, salt for rinses, a soft toothbrush and an interdental brush. Wax makes most incidents manageable until the appointment; a small piece is enough to cover a wire or bracket.

Frequently Asked Questions 17

01

What if a wire is swallowed?

A small piece that has been swallowed usually passes through the digestive tract without trouble; inform the clinic nonetheless. If there is coughing, breathlessness or a sense of choking, the piece may have entered the airway — go to a hospital emergency department immediately.
02

My aligner has cracked — what should I do?

If the crack is small and the aligner still seats, you can continue for a short time. If it does not seat, go back to the previous aligner and call the clinic; wearing none allows the teeth to drift back and the later aligners will not fit. The previous one acts as a retainer until a replacement is made.
03

I have lost my aligner — what now?

Put in the previous aligner straight away and call the clinic. This is why old aligners should be kept rather than discarded. Depending on the situation you may move early to the next one, or the lost one is remade; the decision depends on the stage of treatment.
04

I missed my appointment — will treatment suffer?

One missed appointment is usually made up. With long delays, though, the wire loses its effect and in some cases teeth move in unwanted directions. If a bracket is off, that tooth does not move at all. Rebooking promptly protects the treatment time.
05

Do I need a check-up when I have no complaints?

Having no symptoms is not a sign of health: most decay and all gum disease advance without pain, and interproximal lesions appear only on radiographs.
06

Do I have to treat everything the check-up finds at once?

No. Findings are ranked by urgency: infection and deep decay first, minor work spread through the season, and extensive treatment planned for afterwards.
07

How do I reach the clinic from here?

Our clinic is in Muratpasa and is reached from Kadriye (Serik) by city transport; call for directions or use the map on our contact page.
08

Can I come without an appointment?

In an emergency, yes — you are seen without an appointment for pain, swelling, bleeding, a broken tooth or trauma, and the order is set by how serious the problem is rather than by arrival time. For planned treatment, calling ahead means the dentist, the chair and the time your procedure needs are reserved for you, so you are not kept waiting.
09

Are you open at night and at weekends?

Yes. The clinic has no closing time: it is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and that includes night hours, Saturdays and Sundays, and public holidays. There is no rota to check and no need to ask which day we are on duty. The telephone line is open at the same hours, so you can describe your situation before setting out.
10

I am looking for a dentist in Kadriye — where should I come?

Our clinic is on Sair Adem Dede Street in Muratpasa and serves the Kadriye area, open 24/7. Call ahead for planned treatment; walk in for an emergency.
11

How should I plan my appointment coming from Kadriye?

Tell us how many procedures you need and how much time you have. For patients from Kadriye we combine as much as possible into one visit.
12

Is there a dental clinic open evenings and weekends near Kadriye?

Our clinic has no closing time — evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays included. If you work shifts you can set the appointment around your own schedule.
13

Can our family be treated on the same day from Kadriye?

Yes. Tell us how many are coming and what each needs; appointments are scheduled consecutively so the household is seen in one visit.
14

Which dental problems are most common in the Kadriye area?

The difference between areas is not the type of problem but when people come. Decay, gum disease and missing teeth are the commonest everywhere.
15

Can I come at night from Kadriye in an emergency?

Yes, the clinic is open at night as well. Calling as you set out helps in two ways: you receive first-aid guidance on the telephone, and the radiograph and surgery are made ready while you travel, so you are not kept waiting when you arrive. Do not wait until morning if there is swelling spreading across the face, difficulty swallowing or a fever — those signs need to be seen straight away.
16

Does the information on this page apply across Serik?

The clinical information is the same everywhere; only travel and scheduling differ. You can find your own area's page in our area guide.
17

Since getting my denture some sounds are hard to say. Will it improve?

This is very common and usually improves. Your tongue, palate and cheek muscles need time to adjust to the new surfaces, and sounds like s, sh and f often change at first. Reading aloud, repeating difficult words and speaking slowly speed things up. If clear difficulty remains after some weeks, the denture's thickness or tooth position can be reviewed.
